February 2025: A Productive Month of Upgrades at AutoPartEx

As we wrap up the last few days of February 2025 (month two is flying by!), we’re excited to share the progress we’ve made. It’s been an incredibly productive month, with major updates to several components of our web application. One of the biggest milestones? We’ve successfully integrated searchable maps for both the main website and the shop site!

What Can You Do with the New Map Search?

Our new map functionality allows you to search for both locations and auto parts, making it an incredibly agile and efficient tool for finding what you need. We’re also actively refining the responsive design to ensure a seamless, user-friendly experience across all devices—whether you're browsing on mobile, laptop, or desktop.

    Key Upgrades & Enhancements:

Map Search – Find auto parts faster with a powerful location-based search.
Map Clustering – Easily navigate large data sets with intelligently grouped results.
Map Auto Part Listing Popup Pagination – Browse multiple listings in a single popup.
Map Auto Part Listing Popup Image Preview – View images of auto parts directly from the map.
Auto Part Interchange Data – Get accurate compatibility information.
Clustered Category Pages – More organized results for easier navigation.

Map Clustering: A Faster, More Intuitive Search Experience

A few blog posts ago, we announced a major breakthrough—a searchable map designed to help users quickly find auto parts with precise filtering. Initially, we built this feature with mobile users in mind, but we soon realized that desktop and tablet users would benefit just as much from a more direct search experience—without having to dig through endless menus.

We remain committed to making the map-based search the best way to find auto parts. Toggle filters? Too clunky. While we might introduce them later on the search results page, they tend to slow users down. Instead, with our map search, you can simply use your fingers or mouse to zoom in and find the exact part you need in seconds.

Here’s how map clustering makes searching easier:

📍 Refined Map Clustering – As you filter auto parts using the map, the clusters dynamically update to show you how many parts are available in a specific region.

    📍
Enhanced Pin Popups – Now, when you click on a map pin, you’ll see multiple listings from the same recycler or dealer—giving you more options in one place.

    📍
Consistent Features Across the Shop & Main Site – No matter where you are on our platform, you’ll now have access to the same powerful map tools for finding auto parts.

We’re thrilled about these enhancements and will continue improving the clustering effect over time. This is just the beginning—stay tuned for even more upgrades coming soon!

    What's Next . . .

Looking Ahead: More Auto Parts, More Manufacturers, and Big Goals for March

This was a short update, but behind the scenes, we’ve been working on several major systems that power our web application. While we won’t bore you with all the technical details, one thing you should know is that we’re still laser-focused on building out 900 auto parts category pages and ensuring they’re populated with solid base data.

Right now, we’re prioritizing vehicle manufacturers such as:

    • Acura
    • Toyota
    • Honda
    • Hyundai
    • Kia
    • Subaru
    • Ford
    • Dodge
    • Chevy

By next year, we plan to expand to all 150 manufacturers, but for now, our biggest challenge is marketing and search engine visibility. We’re juggling quite a bit—but as the saying goes, Rome wasn’t built in a day. Every day, we push forward, refining and expanding our platform to reach that zenith.

    Responsive Design & Future Improvements

Responsive design continues to be a challenge, especially as new features roll out. We need more hands on deck to tackle the pivots that arise, particularly when implementing new functionality. We’re considering integrating SASS down the line, but for now, we’re focusing on gathering more user feedback before committing to a full design refactor. Once we do, SASS will help us make responsive design adjustments more efficient, improving UI/UX for our audience at a much faster pace.

March Goals: 100 Auto Part Categories & 150 Manufacturer Pages

Looking ahead, our March goal is to complete all manufacturer pages and build out 100 auto parts categories. Needless to say, we’ll be heads down and working full speed to make this happen.

Stay tuned—we’ll be back with another update when we hit this milestone, with hard-to-find auto parts data ready to go! 🚀
