Map Upgrade 1.2

Map Bugs Fixed, Pop Up Card Pagination

It’s mid-January 2025, and we’ve been hard at work developing new code to enhance features and resolve bugs, all with the goal of improving your user experience. Today, we’re excited to announce a fix for an issue that affected the "clustering" feature on the map.

In a previous post, titled “Map Upgrades”, we introduced a feature that displays concentrated listings where a dealer might have hundreds of auto parts. This feature includes scrolling and pagination capabilities to help you navigate through those results. However, a bug prevented users from fully paginating through all the listings for a dealer.

  • Pop Up Geometry - Pop-ups now display for each latitude and longitude location.
  • Pop Up Filtering - You can navigate through large result sets using "Next" and "Previous" buttons.

As with any web application, occasional challenges arise with new code. Sometimes, features don’t work as expected after deployment, requiring us to enhance, test, and reconfigure. It’s all part of the iterative process of web development.

We remain committed to continuous improvement. As the saying goes, “Rome wasn’t built in a day,” and we appreciate your patience as we refine our platform. If you encounter any issues or errors, please reach out to us. You can contact us via Facebook, X, or email, and include a screenshot or short clip of the problem. Your feedback helps us dive deep and resolve these issues quickly.

Map Gems . . .  Image Thumbnail Preview

Another feature to watch for is the image icons displayed in the pop-up cards for clustered data on a single pin. While some dealers provide images, not all do. Since we currently can’t enforce data requirements (though it’s something we may explore down the road), we’ve had to make the best of the available data. If you’re navigating through different cities and dealer listings and don’t see an image icon to preview an auto part, don’t worry—it simply means the dealer didn’t have image data for us to display.

In a previous post about “Map Gems,” we discussed our plan to replace generic icons with actual thumbnail image previews. If you’ve been following along with us, you may recall this idea. For those who are new here—welcome! We’re thrilled to share that we are actively working on a new gem that will showcase small thumbnails for listings, providing a more visually engaging experience and giving you greater confidence in exploring the data.

Our goal is to empower you to use your time effectively and efficiently with our web application. This new thumbnail feature is still in development, and we look forward to making another exciting announcement soon. Stay tuned as we continue improving your experience!

What's Next . . .

Beyond the exciting gems that enhance the user experience and unlock more powerful data displays, we’re also focusing on expanding our categories. The next few months will be a pivotal time for our brand as we tackle data population on a large scale. After all, what’s a web application without comprehensive, accurate data? That’s why our next big update will focus on introducing new categories and aggregating data for those categories.

We’re also thrilled to share that we’re developing a real-time production system that works around the clock—24/7! This system will ensure that all data displayed on our website’s landing pages, and eventually in our mobile app, is always fresh, accurate, and up-to-date. Keeping data real-time is our ultimate goal, as it enhances the website’s value by prioritizing accuracy, speed, and ease of access for users.

This real-time data loading system, paired with features like image thumbnail previews on the map, represents a significant leap forward for our platform. We’re hard at work on this project and expect to provide updates before the end of January 2025.

Stay tuned for more exciting news, and keep moving confidently toward the future with us!
